Lunch Munch – 12th September – Newlands Corner

A non ride day out at Newlands Corner with a chance to meet up with our injured members. Good to see a new face, Laura, and reconnect with Jeh a prospect from DoB Sussex who we haven’t seen for quite some time. Both our President, Petit Chou, and Treasurer, Bumble, are on the mend; it was really great to see them both back on their feet. Newlands Cafe was open for take away, but not the toilets, which was a great opportunity for the outdoorsy grrrrls to pee in the woods…. some serious scent marking going on there!! For those of us who rode into Newlands it was a great riding day too.
Dreaming Dykes – 20th September – Oxford
Starting at the world famous Ace Cafe, we rode along some fine twisty B roads enjoying the beautiful weather perfect for riding that shone on our ride this month. With the new Rule of 6 restrictions it was members only, including Jehnius from Sussex Dykes on Bikes. Our secretary, Pogs, led the ride and tested out a new helpful route-planner app, called calimoto. We were led through some beautiful Chiltern countryside. Great views and magnificent ancient woodlands via curvaceous B-roads. A bit of boring motorway brought us finally into the heart of Oxford and its lovely golden sandstone buildings. The ancient buildings were impressive, of course, but it was the ride to the Dreaming Spires of Oxford that was memorable!
