15th July – Isle of Sheppey
Isle of Sheppey Learner Ride
We took two friends of our Supporter Laura aka ‘Bandit’, Caz and Corra, out to the Isle of Sheppey to help them as new riders .
Starting off in Farningham making our way south on good A roads to start then moving onto B roads some of which are better described as bridle paths with tarmac ! The girls were in good spirits and definitely experiencing something new!

Now moving east and looking for a rest stop out pops a pub. All parked up and off to the closed pub! Never mind Shiela has spotted a shop opposite and a perfect patch of grass nice and cool under an Oak tree, did I mention its 28 degrees !

All rested we move onto roads where a bit more speed is in need. The girls do well again. With a quick stop at the Detling Diner on the A249, we were now on our way to the Swale crossing.

The bridge is 35 meters high over the Swale River so approaching it must be a bit daunting for them. With Dykes ahead of them and Dykes behind them we are over and on the Isle.
A few sweeping roads and we are at our destination for a deserved lunch and a strip off of the jackets!

Down to the beach for a chill before we head back our separate ways.

Another good day done with two new women riders knackered and happy for it!
