The motherclub in San Francisco has now confirmed our official chapter status… woohooo!!
We are in active discussions with Pride in London and Cambridge Pride so watch this space for updates on these events.
An excellent social evening was held at Riley’s Snooker club… an evening of pool and chat… watch out for Slick, she is a bit of a pool shark!!!
We kicked off the new season, (although we generally ride all year round), with a fantastic blat to Lavenham in Suffolk…
see all our photos on our Facebook page.
Happy New Year!!! This month we had a great evening ten pin bowling, where we met a few new faces… we hope to see them again soon.
A quiet month… brrrrrrr. We did however have an excellent evening at the Lyric Pub in Soho for our Christmas get together… highly recommended.
Another great weekend away… this time to Cheddar Gorge for the inaugural DoB London Butch Games. More about this soon on Pogs’ Blog.
Before heading out to Vive La France we went on an adventure a bit closer to home. We rode up to Castle Rising Castle, one of the largest, best preserved and most lavishly decorated keeps in England, surrounded by 20 acres of mighty earthworks. This historical monument of course impressed us all very much and also lent itself excellently to some typical DOB London pics…
…and then the absolutely fantastic club trip to France. We spent a long weekend exploring the Pays de Calais region and visiting interesting historical sites. We also enjoyed really good weather, for the time of year.. freezing, but generally dry so that’s always very welcome.

Enjoying an Indian Summer a few of us went on an impromptu ride out to Bumbles Blast and a week later we had a Seaside Rendezvous in Aldeburgh on the Suffolk coast for a very nice blast, some fish and chips, September sun and seagulls…..lots of seagulls!
August was a super busy month for Dykes on Bikes London. We had 4 events: Stolks Fav Lanes Part 2 ride-out around Cambridgeshire, a mid-week ride from Mitchim to Boxhill, Ace Café Laydees Day and the Pride Parade in Hastings. Wonderful times were had at all these events, but the photos below really do capture the vibe spot on…
This month we again explored the Essex countryside for Stolk’s Fav Lanes part 1 (Essex is underrated!). This time we ventured a bit further North and had a beautiful hot and sunny 30 degree day. We met up at the Original Tea Hut in Epping Forest for some brekkie and coffee/tea and then rode to biker paradise and picturesque village Finchingfield and continued on for an excellent lunch in the garden of Clavering Lake & Lodge (highly recommend!).
A great ride-out to the Southend seaside for an ice-cream and fish & chips. We met up at the Squadron café at North Weald Airfield, a great location to start our trip and rode to the sea via some lovely twisty Essex countryside backroads. Unfortunately we all got ticketed for wrong parking…..oops, but we kept smiling. Lesson of today, kids, know your road signs….!
Our first event was on the 15th May 2018
We discussed whether there is enough interest to officially apply for chapter status from Dykes on Bikes® San Francisco. It was agreed that we would set up a prospective chapter and contact San Francisco for an application to become an official Chapter.
It was agreed that the following people would take on the officer roles of the prospective Chapter:
President – Sylvie (Petit Chou)
Vice- President – Annemarie (Stolk)
Treasurer – Liz (Doc)
Secretary – Pádraigín (Pogs)
Sergeant at Arms – Gill (Badger)
Thank you to everyone who attended… exciting times ahead!!
